100 Days Selected Project for Women

I intend to help celebrate single mothers if granted funds from the 100 days of Us initiative. I have been a volunteer with the Bartko Foundation for the past 4 years. This organization helps single mothers achieve the goals that they set for themselves by partnering with provider agencies to supplement the cost of the needs that may “fall through the cracks,” side-tracking them from becoming self-sufficient. If granted these funds, I will help host a luncheon honoring the single mothers chosen by the Bartko Foundation. My mother was a single parent and because of this, I choose to support single mothers. She had the thankless job of supporting 3 young children on one income. She sacrificed more than I am sure we will ever know to ensure that we had the best education and opportunities available to us. She taught us about hard work, persistence, and love. The next administration proposes to make it really difficult for single mothers to succeed. My goal is to acknowledge their importance and celebrate them.
